How are you? I'm okay. I've been better, can't lie. My new single is coming out soon, in less than a month. I'm sitting on a couch in an AirBnB in Nashville with my friend Cindy (who took the cover art for my upcoming single, by the way). Life is decent enough. I feel okay.
I'm excited to release new music again. I wrote this upcoming song four months ago (by the time it comes out, at least). We've recently crossed the one-year mark since the new Ben music and boy have I been busy! I'm trudging along on the new album. It has a name finally, which is such a relief. I'm going all out this time. I'm pouring my heart and soul into this body of work. It feels very fulfilling already and we're only a few songs deep at this point. I've written so many things it's hard to keep track of. I'm so excited. I hope you are too. It's going to be beautiful. Just wait.
Anyway. I'm trying to decide when I should announce the song. I guess this is me announcing that the announcement is coming (lol). Right now, it's scheduled for March 7, 2025. I'm tempted, however, to just say fuck it and announce it on Friday or March 1 (which is this coming Saturday, I believe). I guess you'll know when you know. We shall see.
A little info about the song. It's 3:56 long, one of my longer songs. I love when songs are longer than three minutes. It feels like in pop music today the art of the bridge and the longer-form pop song (anything over two minutes basically) is lost on so many artists. It makes me mad because the bridge is the best part of the song. Why sacrifice it for the sake of radio play? It just doesn't make much sense to me! But I digress.
Anyway, we're listening to Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves right now on the TV in this AirBnB. My friend just said, “Kacey Musgraves is the best thing that's ever happened to me,” and I'm inclined to agree. I'll talk to you later. Keep in touch!
