Biography
Ben McKelvey
A Singer-Songwriter
Coming into the music scene in August 2021, Ben McKelvey writes from the heart. His music follows his real-life experiences and journey to self-actualization and, through singing, songwriting, and producing, he has found a way to express his feelings. From the young age of four, Ben knew music was his passion. Through years of training and practicing, Ben began becoming familiar with the production and songwriting realm and used it as a medium for storytelling and as a way to cope with experiences he dealt with in his real life. Through much soul-searching and practice, music has become a constant in his life.
In 2021, Ben made his debut with Tear Me Apart, later releasing his first EP, Things I Never Said to You a few months later. The EP followed a heartbreak that made Ben dive deep into music headfirst, as he had never written or produced original music prior. This is the reason Ben would later go on to remix and add to the EP, releasing things i never said to you (the two year anniversary edition) two years later on December 1, 2023.
Before this remix album, however, Ben would release his first full-length album, Heaven, The Afterlife. This album, three years in the making, chronicled a love story with a tragic ending. Ben used his real life experiences to construct this concept album about love and loss.

A new era:
On March 21, 2025, Ben would go on to release the lead single from his upcoming third album (set to be released November 14, 2025), "Bland, dull, repetitive, and boring." The song served as the initial marker of Ben's steady transition into a sound of pop grandeur, a style heavily featured on the upcoming project from Ben. The first of three phases, "Bland, dull, repetitive, and boring," follows anger and sadness while mourning the loss of someone.
Ben’s second single from his upcoming album, "Don't you remember you want me? (feat. Gaby Lesmana)" was released June 13, 2025. It marks Ben's first collaboration in his discography with friend and classmate Gaby Lesmana. The two met while attending The New School. Ben re-discovered an old demo and says, "Working with Gaby was a dream. Her voice flows through this track like it was always meant to be there. When I first rediscovered the demo of that song, written in 2024 originally titled 'Call a spade a spade,' I knew her talents were destined to grace it."
The newest and final single prior to the release of Ben's third album, "Nostalgia will be the death of me," is available now. Ben writes, "The creation of this song was a blur. I've found myself straying from the path I typically take in the way I craft a song, and I think the sound of this song is evident of that." "Nostalgia..." is the departure Ben has been heading towards regarding his sonics and sound. It's his version of pop music at it's finest, a catchy hook and an ear-worm of a melody.
All these singles and more are present on Ben's third album, When I look to the sky, I see an angel. The album is available now.
