“Nostalgia will be the death of me” is available now wherever you get your music. This song is, at least in my eyes, quite a significant sonic departure from the music I’m used to making. I found myself plucking around on a MIDI keyboard one day alone in my room and discovered the synth you hear at the beginning of the song. This was the jumping-off point that would lead to the final version of the song you’re listening to now (or plan on listening to, at least).
The creation of this song was a blur. I remember my friend Hannah sitting in my bedroom while I recorded some ad-libs and harmonies in the demo (which doesn’t sound much different from the final version, just fyi) and listening to it in the car on the way to dinner that night. I’ve almost found myself straying from the path that I typically go down in the way I craft a song, and I think the sound of the song is evident in that.
This song is the third single off my upcoming album, which is coming soon. I’m so excited for you all to hear the music I’ve been making, it’s much different from the sounds you’re probably used to from me. I am proud of it and listen to it every day. A few more pieces will fall into place soon, and it will be yours to listen to. Until then, what do you say when you’re looking for me?
