“Buzzer” serves as the first glimpse into a new world I have built for my senior capstone project, Noises. It is the culmination of everything I’ve learned during these past few years as a music student at The New School. Each song serves as a chapter, a reconstruction of a memory from my childhood spent in the Ohio woods. I first conceptualized this piece and the album it is part of last summer, and I am endlessly excited to finally share a glimpse into it today.
The photos and videos for this project were taken at my childhood home in Marengo, OH, by my best friend Lila and me. I wanted to capture the essence of how this project feels to me, what it looks like to return to a place once sacred so many years later. I asked myself: how is memory affected by sound? Noises is my answer to that question.
