Hello! Hello!
I randomly felt the urge to pop on here and say hey, how are you? I hope you're well. I've recently started a new semester. new classes, new people, new experiences, and I welcome that with open arms. I spent the last month at home with my friends and family. it was quite relaxing, though I am excited to be back in the city. A whole new slew of things to do, people to say, and music to work on is at the forefront of my mind.
Speaking of music to work on, I figured I would drop a few tidbits about the new album. I have a working title, though it will probably be the title that we end up with. It is all very exciting to see my ongoing master document grow and evolve as I trudge toward a completed, polished product. I recently found myself excited about music again, it is always on my mind, which is a welcome change as I spent a lot of time feeling uninspired with a bad case of writer's block. Though I feel like I've broken through that slowly but surely. In that same vein, I am trekking closer and closer to completion, but good things take time, and I still have a long road ahead until the album is done. But! It's coming! (I've actually sprinkled in some tiny easter eggs throughout my past few blog posts, so if they don't make sense now, they will later).
The new album is very wordy. The titles are long (song titles and the album title, that is). I've kept it all very close to my chest, as I do with most things. Yet, I'm excited to ask my friends to help me with the artistic aspects that aren't necessarily music-related in the sense of writing, production, or vocals. I've found that the music itself is very, very word-heavy, as in there are a lot of lyrics. But don't let this take away from the production work! I feel like, of the stuff I've been listening to that will inevitably make its way onto the new album in its final form, it's some of the best production work I've done. I always improve as I work, as I want everything I do to be better than the last.
All of this is to say, I'm excited to be making music and to put it out. As of now, it's been almost a whole year since I put out new music, the longest gap I've had between releases. Though, if you don't count the “Burned It All” remix, it has been over a year since. Anyway, regardless, life is good. I'm making music. It's coming. I have a window in mind for when I would like it to come out, but knowing me, it'll be longer. You'll know when I tell you! That will happen at some point! I love being cryptic. It's very fun.
Oh! I've also added a new feature to this sight: a monthly playlist! If you're interested, you can see the Spotify playlist of the music I've enjoyed throughout the month, and I'll update it once the new one begins! It should actually be placed right above the blog section of my homepage, so if you scrolled down to this, you passed it already. Take a look! I love giving people a glimpse into what music I've been listening to on repeat (that isn't my own).
